In which the order in which information is presented makes all the difference:
The Senate Foreign Relations Committeeset no new date for a vote, but a delay of at least two weeks seemslikely while the committee looks into new allegations, including thoseof a Dallas businesswoman who says an irate Bolton chased her through ahotel and threw things at her at an international conference a decadeago.
White House press secretary ScottMcClellan said Bush stood by Bolton unequivocally. "John Bolton isexactly the person we need at the United Nations at this time," hesaid.
We NEED someone to chase subordinates down the hall into their rooms. (Maybe he’s just a real stickler for curfew.) We NEED someone to force folks to say that black is white. Unequivocally.
Yup, what the United States really needs to represents its interests right now is a complete, raving, unmedicated loony. Good choice, George!

when after all this time they are chasing allegations such as this it seems dems are desperate.

Troll, respectfully, I think the allegations are chasing them. This stuff is coming up every day, from folks who worked for and with Bolton. The Dems have been fairly passive in the whole thing. Have you read the Melody Townsel story? (Just google her, and you’ll find it — LA Times story, for instance.)

Sorry. I just can’t get excited about this issue. No, I have not been following the details of his rants with employees closely so I probaby should keep my mouth shut…..(yeah, right.)But, if i understand it correctly this man has voiced strong opinions that basically the U.N. is nothing without the United States. It is useless.Well, i think, as I believe most people do,that is true. Being ambassador to UN is not same as diplomat to foreigh country. After that I have always been of opinion that if you want to get someone then just keep searching and diging. You can always come up with a skeleton or with good spin turn a nothing into a big something.Just because repubs do it, doesn’t mean we have to. Most people in this country could not care less, but if there is a scandal, such as one dems are trying to make here, then public gets divided and repubs have much better record of winning those. Fox will use it for sure to their advantage and the talking points aganst dems on this will be loud and heard. As for incidents years back coming from former employees and peers, big deal. i’m sure there is some truth to them but really……Yeah yeah yeah he chased a woman down a hall. What does the word chase mean. Was he continuing a convwersation with her that she did not want to hear. A half ass trial attorney could probably make these witneses look like idiots with a grudge who have been maniupulatred by people working on behalf of dem interests. In less then an hour!

I agree with the title and the idea that it portends.Although I was delighted when our Democrats sat up straight, downed a throat lozenge, and finally started screaming, the selection of this lunatic as the current mal-administration’s representative to the UN is perfect. I can really think of no better representative to the current criminal bunch in power than this one, other than sending either Cheney, Bush, or perhaps Rumsfeld. Let him go. Let him be a total embarrasment. Let the rest of the world chew him to pieces. The planet knows that, no matter who Bush sends, he’ll send an asshole. Why not one with “asshole” emblazoned all over himself?
