Reuters fires freelance photographer who altered images

The Reuters news agency has fired a photographer and has withdrawn all 920 of his photographs from its database after it was discovered that the photographer, Lebanese freelancer Adnan Hajj, altered two photographs to make damage from Israeli bombing appear worse than it was.  One photograph was Photoshopped to make smoke rising from bomb sites appear more intense and darker; the other was altered to show an Israeli F-16 dropping three flares instead of one.

And the information wars in the Middle East continue.
