Profound observation: People are weird.
- “The quintessential Liberal Fascist isn't an SS storm trooper; it is a female grade school teacher with an education degree from Brown or Swarthmore.”
That's Jonah Goldberg lookin' at you, David.
- “Abortion, environmentalism, AIDS, pornography, drug abuse, and homosexual activism have fragmented and polarized our communities … It is now difficult to keep track of the vast array of publicly endorsed and institutionally supported aberrations—from homosexuality and pedophilia to sadomasochism and necrophilia.”
That's charming, charismatic frontrunner Mike Huckabee — back in 1998, when he was an intemperate youth, don't you know.
- “[A]ren't you appalled at the willingness of these people to become castratos in the eunuch chorus here or whatever they are?”
That's opinion-leader Chris Matthews, talking about people freakish enough to endorse Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.
- “It is simply no longer possible to ignore the strangeness of our public discourse.”
Oh wait, that's not weird. That's Al Gore.

The quintessential Liberal Fascist isn’t an SS storm trooper?
<
p>Apparently he knows so little of history that he is unaware that the storm troopers were not the SS, they were the SturmAbteilung–the Nazi Party’s SA brownshirts. They were dissolved in 1934 after Hitler murdered their leader Ernst Roehm and others in the “Night of long knives.”
<
p>The SS (StaatSicherheit) came a bit later.

While Goldberg’s historical illiteracy is both breathtaking and very telling, I’d submit that his inability to tell the SS from the SA is hardly the weakest element of his “argument”.

…I have better things to do than to read his columns. I was responding to what was posted here.

Chris Matthews drinks too much alcohol, so that’s his excuse. I don’t know what wrong with the other two.

This is what I want to see more of…
I can’t support Ron Paul because he doesn’t support freedom for women, but hey, he gets a good quote out there in the public discourse. People need to be reminded of Sinclair Lewis every election season. Especially the ones watching Fox News.

did you get that impression?

and it cracks me up every time that Fox fella starts sputtering about fascism. Romney should be spending some of his millions just to keep Ron Paul in the race. The entertainment factor alone with this guy is off the charts!

Tonight Chris Matthews’ hate for anything Hillary actually had him drooling across his whole bottom lip, he was so intensely salivating. Boy, that’s rabid dislike. She has clearly offended him in some very big way. Former Senator Bob Kerrey has to get vilified by Matthews for expressing his opinion, too. If Kerrey had been endorsing Obama at the same time he was complimenting him for his heritage and world view, Matthews would have been touting Kerrey’s genius and integrity.
