MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL SELLS OUT BIG TIME/ SHOULD END ANTI-TRUST EXEMPTION

Did anyone notice in today’s Red Sox Athletics game in the Toyko Dome that players from both sides were walking billboards for Pepsi, Quiznos, EMC 2 and others. There were more patches on the players’ uniforms for commercial space than on the wall of the stadium. I think this is a worse sell out than the steroid scandal. Major League Baseball should lose its anti-trust exemption over this. As the late, great George Frazier would have said… “D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G.”

Richardson, Carville and DFA

This afternoon I received an email from DFA, Democrats for America, complaining about Carville’s recent “Judas” comments toward Richardson. The message DFA starts off with is that the Democrats should be fighting against McCain’s candidacy, not each other.

This is not acceptable.  We have a war to end and John McCain to beat in November. James Carville is busy creating enemies within the Democratic Party by attacking a respected, sitting Democratic governor.

Fair enough, Carville said something dumb. DFA then goes on to ask people to send Carville a message, as if that would do anything. The problem is the message they move to next:

Clearly, the Clinton campaign has not gotten the message. James Carville has refused to take back his remarks and Senator Clinton has not denounced or rejected this character assassination of Governor Richardson, a fellow Democrat and former Clinton appointee.

Isn’t this exactly what a large part of Obama’s speech was about? Do not find someone guilty by association. More importantly, if Carville did something really really dumb (which I believe he did) then call him on it, but do not say that just because he supports Clinton that she is now somehow responsible for his idiocy. In fact, Wolfson stepped away from Carville’s comments saying “It’s not something that I would have said.”

A national campaign tailor-made for MA races

Check this out. BlogPac is announcing a similar program to reform safe, blue seats at the local and statewide level: From Blue to Bluer. From Blue to Bluer seeks to first identify, and then help elect, progressive, grassroots candidates who are running in competitive Democratic primaries in blue districts around the country. The primaries can either be for open seats or against incumbents who are either too conservative for their districts, or who are simply corrupt, or both. The goal is to find a handful of proudly progressive primary candidates for local and state legislative races, and then provide them with the national support they need to help put them over the top. Through this program, we can show Democrats across the country that that a fifty-state strategy means blue districts too, and that all Democrats, no matter how local, can be held accountable for not representing their districts or for selling out progressive ideals. Sweet.  And Chris Bowers, the author of this campaign, knows whereof he speaks. The city where I live, Philadelphia, is a perfect example of why we need From Blue To Bluer. With the city regularly voting for Democrats in general elections by more than 80%, [...]

Sal and Deval – Who’s Mobbed Up? With Poll

It seems a tad bizarre the way Deval is still pushing this casino now that it is ancient history for at least the next 2 years. It is also funny how the whispers of Sal being a mobbed up lawyer on the take have been surfacing. Is that what Deval suggested when according to Joan Vennochi, he pondered without answering, why Sal would be against Casini gambling. Implying, without saying anything, that there has to be some reason why Sal is against it. After all he is from the North End. And he knows people from the North End. And of the hundreds, perhaps thousands of clients he has had over the years, a handful, if that, had mob affiliations.

I only know of two.

One.  He represented a bookie in a low level district court case in the 1980s. Those case are hard to prove. You need all the right evidence. Not everyone arrested gets convicted. I am sure the judge dismissed it based on the evidence. I bet Sal made no more than $2,500 on the case.

Two. He represented a crime figure

PBS Frontline: “BUSH’S WAR ” A MUST SEE

Not that it doesn’t tell the person who has been following the corrupt Bush/Cheney [McCain's 100 year War] for the past 5 or 6 years anything new but the PBS Frontline “Bush’s War” is a must see. You can also download it from the PBS website. It confirms how deceptive if not demonic Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld were to get the cognitively challenged G Bush to initiate the war in Iraq on totally false intelligence. It also shows that Condolezza Rice became nothing more than the White House house servant in all the worst sense of that despicable phrase and Colin Powell was not far behind in fear of their masters. 4000 brave American soldiers are now DEAD and thousands of other brave American soldiers injured because of the mental derangement of those currently in charge of the Executive Branch of our government. 4000 brave American soldiers died again for a lie and the rest of America is being driven into an economic depression like that of 1929 and the 1930′s. We are Trillions of dollars in debt to Japan and other foreign governments to pay for the delusions of these malefators. No one who had anything to do [...]
