Final push in 4th Worcester District – Leominster

Dear friends,

On Tuesday the voters in Leominster will select their Democratic nominee for State Representative.  I’ve been campaigning hard for the last few months, working at the grass-roots with a team of over 100 dedicated volunteers from Leominster who want to make their community a better place and want to continue the record of responsive, effective, and progressive representation they have had.

My opponent in this campaign is working hard, too, though.  He has taken contributions from Kris Mineau, backers of the Massachusetts Family Institute, and prominent conservative and Republican contributors from across the state.

Gloucester Times Endorses John Kerry for Re-election

Ed O’Reilly’s hometown newspaper has endorsed John Kerry for re-election. This is good news for the Senator. The Gloucester Times has sometimes been rough on the Senator during this campaign season, but when it comes down to brass tacks, they note that …Kerry’s record over the past 24 years and leadership on issues ranging from the environment to veterans affairs, has won him national recognition that very nearly catapulted him into the presidency in 2004. He remains one of the most visible and respected members of the Senate. and conclude that Ed O’Reilly has not made a strong enough case for the voters to choose him.

I dare you, praise Joe Biden

Joe telling a man in a wheelchair to stand up? I guess he doesn’t actually meet people whose name he tosses out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v… I wont say anything else, because only cuss words come to mind.

Get the Obama Rally Cap Back On: Hold Some Friggin’ Rallies

There’s been enough unhelpful hand-wringing going on within the Democratic family these days to tire out a trapeze artist.  But like Red Sox fans (at least up until the miracle of 2004), we Democrats are terrified that we may be watching another one slip away from our grasp – with David Axelrod (who has been brilliant in so many ways ) sadly cast in the role of Grady Little – so hand-wringing is unavoidable.

I’ve been trying to stay optimistic – rebutting efforts to question Obama’s tactics (as I always figured this would be a nail-bitter against McCain and his war record, which is the best story going in contemporary American politics), counselling nervous family members that the polling in key swing states looks good despite sliding national tallies and believeing (hoping) that the so-called Palin bounce will prove about as real and short-lasting as her opposition to the “Bridge to Nowhere” and aversion to earmarks were and are.  And yet, and I’ll be straight, I’m more nervous then ever and like many feel something has to be done by Obama and Co. to grab the reigns back in this race.

Sarah “Dear” In The Headlights Interview With Charlie Gibson

If one needs more proof that Sarah Palin is unqualified totally to be Vice President of anything larger than the local Kiwanis Club just look at the Charlie Gibson ABC Interview. Sarah Palin did not even know what the Bush Doctrine of preemptive intervention was. She was blank faced and faking it all through the interview. Palin looked like the beauty contestant interview response with which she is most familiar. She never answered any question directly. That might fly in Alaska but not with her next door neighbor …. Russia which she said she can see from islands off Alaska. In conclusion, Sarah Palin doesn’t have a handle for the issues on the world stage and should be a disaster against Joe Biden. This time Sarah Palin did it to herself. No sexism just plain inexperience.
