This is Andi Mullin, Legislative Director at the Mass Nurses Association.
First, let me express our most heartfelt appreciation to those who reached out to support us over the past few days. Our members are indeed fortunate to have so many wonderful friends and allies.
Secondly, I am pleased to report that Sen. Richare Moore contacted us this morning and apologized for the unfortunate comment he made about the MNA on Thursday.
We accept his apology, and look forward to continuing to work with you all to bring safe patient care to all residents of Massachusetts.
Thank you all again.
Please share widely!

Why not go to nursing school?

The MNA is a member-driven union of 23,000 RNs representing approximately 70 percent of all accute care nurses in Massachusetts.
<
p>As a Community Organizer I work with nurses to help them advocate effectively for the MNA’s legislative agenda:

<
p>Single-payer health care and safe staffing legislation are at the heart of that agenda, but there are many other items as well. For a list, see

<
p>I also do community outreach (with other unions, Mass. Senior Action Council, Mass-Care, etc.) in support of the nurses’ agenda. I also support individual bargaining units during contract campaigns.
<
p>When I am not working for the MNA I chair the Amherst Democratic Town Committee and I volunteer my time with the Progressive Massachusetts Political Action Committee (which raises money for progressive political candidates and advocates for progressive policy outcomes. I also co-host a weekly progressive public affairs radio program (“Focus” on WMUA).

Glad he apologized. That was over the top.
<
p>What do you think of his substantive point though? I was curious, so I look at his website, and here’s what it says:

in the medical field due to the economy does it?
But for sure they are going after Bailor shifts, there are no raises this year and instead of raises installing surveillance cameras bring about an added plus.
I guess everybodies worker rights are gone.
