Gawker:
Here is a nine minute video of a man named Tim Jones chasing and screaming at three black people at the 9/12 rally. Tim Jones is a right-wing blog folk hero for his heroic actions that day.
Seriously, we cannot actually imagine watching this and cheering on the shrieking old white man. Even if we agreed that ACORN was a terrible criminal organization bent on helping all the prostitutes in the world fill out their taxes while registering illegal immigrant cartoon characters to vote, we would still be incredibly uncomfortable watching Tim Jones scream at a couple fucking kids (one of whom he definitely calls “boy” in his charming Boston accent) and their mother.
The crime of these terrible black people? Selling “Don’t Tread On Me” signs at the 9/12 rally… It’s just too bad they were at the 9/12 rally selling the flags for ACORN, an organization that does not actually send employees to rallies to sell flags.
Crooks & Liars:
“…ACORN is just the new wingnutspeak code for the ‘N’ word. It’s now become an epithet — one you can chase black people around with and accuse them angrily. Just what America needs right now.”
See if you recognize the accent.

If someone is at a 9/12 rally selling “Don’t Tread on Me” flags, why would anyone assume he is from ACORN? That sounds like an item people at the rally would want to buy and not something ACORN would sell. Something’s definitely not computing here.

It appears that the 3 flag-sellers were independent entrepreneurs selling flags at a rally (like I used to sell glow-sticks out of a cooler back in the 70’s at the 4th of July celebration on the Esplanade.)
<
p>It also appears that Mr Jones decided to verbally assault these 3 individuals, one of whom was a kid, because Mr. Jones somehow got the idea they were from the group ACORN. That’s something that makes no sense at all unless Mr Jones decided that they must be from ACORN b/c they were African American. Or maybe Mr J overheard something that triggered his bias on that point and then he turned rabid over it.
<
p>Sure looks like racist hate to me. I wish I could reach out in solidarity to the 3 individuals who were harassed.

First, Beck cites his bona fides as a populist in defense of calling Obama a racist.

p>Beck ignores that Obama had some facts. Gates was arrested in his own home after being cleared of suspicion of breaking and entering into his own home.

of black and minority people. It has replaced the ACLU, as a target for hate, not because it is larger, more active, or more influential, but because the demographics of ACORN has been far more effective in generating hateful opposition.
<
p>How many people ever heard of ACORN before they became a target of the far right?
<
p>”Don’t Tread on Me” symbol has been popular among the Tea Party crowd, so it was not the flags they were selling that drew attention to these vendors. In this large crowd, the only thing that makes them stand out and draw attention is their race.
<
p>There have been several videos of the Tea Parties posted here, including the “GOP Hate” below, showing very offensive signs symbols and behavior. Do you see this guy or anyone chasing them out of the rally?
<
p>So what is that makes someone look like they belong at the rally?
