His Excellency the Governor spells it out in an email this afternoon:
In 2006, I stood as the only candidate for governor who supported this project. As governor, with the help of an effective team, I have delivered. By contrast, Charlie Baker and Tim Cahill have been silent on Cape Wind and on the jobs potential and environmental wisdom of the entire clean-tech sector. I believe this offers another example of the clear choice that the people of Massachusetts face in November.
We must ask ourselves: Do we continue forward with projects like Cape Wind — projects that will advance our economy and energy policy both immediately and for decades to come — or do we accept the status quo? Do we invest in the sectors that will bring the jobs of the 21st century, or do we stand idly by and wait for others to shape our future.
That silence you hear from Baker and Cahill is the sound of them choking on hundreds of new jobs for Massachusetts and a greener future, delivered by their political rival.

The Governor delivers again. On the economy and environment he has been visionary. Its gonna pay off for him even in this difficult post-recession political climate.

This really was in the hands of the Feds. However, Patrick’s consistent support all along meant far fewer obstacles, plus sometimes the Governor’s attitude has influence when Feds come down with a decision.

p>But this is definitely a win all around. Thank goodness we got a Dem in the White House.

and you also acknowledge that without Deval Patrick supporting this issue early, campaigning on it, and winning the 2006 race, it’d be much harder for their to have gotten public support from Democratic politicians.

p>As far as I’m concerned, he’s more than earned any credit he gets on the issue.

p>I hope that we get some construction equipment staged soon, so DP can get some press in front of the new jobs.

Paul kinda thinks the project sucks. Me kinda thinks a lot of attorneys are going to make a lot of money over the next ten years. Me kinda also wonders if this project would have gotten approved if Ted were still a Senator.

As much as respected Kennedy, nothing says “Limousine Liberal” more than pushing for clean energy everywhere expect where you like to go sailing…

Is that Martha’s Vineyard? I love Carly Simon. I love Cape Cod. Not so much the Hyaniss/Yarmouth area, but the outer Cape – From Eastham and beyond. It’s that glorious sea-breeze, misty, salty, fresh air, free feeling feeling.
The East Coast is so much more awesome than the West Coast.
