CHARLE BAKER: TRACK RECORD PROVES HE IS UNFIT TO BE GOVERNOR

Charlie Baker’s track record of stiffing  hard working  professionals and walking away from his responsibility has to be taken into consideration and disqualifies him from being elected governor. When he took over Harvard Pilgrim Health and pulled out of Rhode Island he refused to pay several hundred Rhode Island physicians for services they had rendered in full compliance with their contract with Harvard Pilgrim Health. As a result, those doctors had to sue Charlie Baker and Harvard Pilgrim Health to get paid what they were owed. It took a several years for the case to come to court and Charlie Baker and Harvard Pilgrim Health to be forced by the courts to pay the physicians. In the interim, those physicians had to take out loans to pay their employees and to cover their operating expenses. Charlie Baker did his best to bankrupt those dedicated and honorable physicians. If elected governor he would have no qualms bankrupting us if his accounting gimmicks were good for his bottom line. He has no conscience. If Charlie Baker had a conscience he would have found a means to pay those physicians. If this is an example of Charlie Baker’s management skills then God, Save [...]

“Greater Boston” and two Auditor candidates fail their responsibility

Greater Boston aired an unprofessional interview Thursday with only two of the three candidates for State Auditor, and failed in its responsibility to inform its audience so we can cast a knowledgeable vote for State Auditor. Green-Rainbow Party candidate Nat Fortune would have brought more light than heat to this pretense of conducting a candidates’ debate. As shocked as I am at Emily Rooney’s negligence, I am equally disappointed that neither Republican Mary Connaughton nor Democrat Suzanne Bump — who have participated in several three-way forums — had the integrity to refuse to appear unless all three valid candidates were included. They both claim they want to bring transparency to the office, but where was their transparency tonight?

News ….from another universe

At a press conference today outside the Massachusetts State House, Democratic Party Chairman John Walsh publicly admonished State Representative Michael Rush for actively seeking the endorsement of Massachusetts Citizens for Life. Chairman Walsh stated, “We as Democrats believe in the right of a woman to choose regarding abortion, and since Mr. Rush does not support us, I am rescinding our support of him.” He has instructed the Secretary of State to remove the Democratic Party nomination for State Senator of the Suffolk & Norfolk District from Michael Rush. Chairman Walsh also stated that there were other reasons for Rush’s punishment, e.g. trying to revoke the right of gay and lesbian couples to marry. After the press conference,he proceeded to Boston City Hall to direct the Boston Election Commission to stike Rush’s Democratic Party membership as well. Representative Rush could not be reached for comment. The difference between this universe and ours? The Democratic Party in this universe does not allow Republicans to seek office claiming that they are Democrats.

Four Questions for BMG

1. David.  EB3 isn’t around.  I have a question about DA Dan Conley.  So it’s you.   Did you see the video of the cop punching a kid during an arrest?   The Globe reported today “Conley tapped First Assistant District Attorney Josh Wall, who oversees all Superior Court prosecutions in Suffolk County, to conduct an independent investigation into the arrest.” My question – how is that “independent”?  What’s he independent of?   2. Predictions on Barney Frank?  Bueller?   Am I crazy in wondering if Deval Patrick’s trending up a bit is gonna make the Frank election closer than the 13 point polling spread?  I.e., don’t independent voters, when given a chance to “split the ticket,” often do just that?   And if you live in Newton/Brookline, aren’t the 2 main offices up in this election Rep and Gov?   3. There’s that Jim Henderson dude staring at me on Google ads.  Man his eyes are very wide open in that pic. My question is – why would Sec Galvin decline a debate?  Ie, when a candidate has an election locked up, why not just get the free air time?  Smile a lot, thank people, etc?  Particularly if one [...]

Baker’s poll internal numbers show even more problems

MEMORANDUM TO:                  BAKER FOR GOVERNOR CAMPAIGN FROM:            NEIL NEWHOUSE B PUBLIC OPINION STRATEGIES SUBJECT:      RECENT BAKER POLL DATA DATE:            OCTOBER 28, 2010 We just came out of the field with a 600 sample of likely voters over the last two nights (October 26-27) for the Baker campaign.  The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4% in 95 out of 100 cases. Key Findings and suggestions 1.      9% say they would be less likely to vote for a candidate if that candidate also supported someone who tried to cover up a “sexual assault”  Only 30% were less  likely to support someone who covered up a “strip search”  (suggestion: keep holding our nose by supporting Jeff Perry by referring to the “strip search” incident) 2.    55% of respondents agree that because Charlie talks about his IVY league back ground a lot he is more electable. (Suggestion: keep mining the Princeton and Dartmouth alumni list) 3.  21% of the women surveyed find Charlie: arrogant and whinny. (Suggestion: Charlie should take Flonase to mask the whinnies) 4. 85% of [...]

Mary Connaughton’s Extreme Endorsements: Is the Globe Losing its Soul?

The Boston Globe’s rightward drift this cycle is disheartening and confusing to a long-time reader like myself.  I saw their endorsement of Mary Connaughton in this week’s paper and had to wonder: what Mary Connaughton were they writing about?

Was it the Mary Connaughton who sought out and received the endorsement of Mass Resistance, a radical anti-gay extremist organization that has been declared a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center?

Was it the Mary Connaughton who sought out and received the endorsement of the Sutton Tea Party, an extremist group that requires endorsed candidates to pledge support for “national sovreignty,” a code for anti-immigrant sentiment?

NEW DCCC AD…nice job!
