1. Bob Massie is a member of the BMG community, with his most id bmass

   His most recent post was A New Song of Sorrow but you can get a solid sense of Bob Massie by going to his page at Blue Mass Group by clicking on bmass at the A New Song of Sorrow post.

   Bob Massie has my enthusiastic support.  I knew he announced as I received that announcement via email and via facebook, and figured BMG would also hear from him soon, as he is a member of this community.  Bob Massie is a man of deep compassion, tested integrity, and solid work ethic.

3. Would like more information

   So the race is on!  That's awesome.  

   I would like more information about his thoughts on the stock market and the role it is playing in denigrating our society.  I notice that he calls himself an "investment leader" on his website.  Exactly what type of role does he play in the investment world and what, in understandable terms, does Global Reporting Initiative do to make our world a better place.

4. Interesting

   I welcome him to the race and like some of his ideas, lets see what he does. His priesthood and social enterprising are definitely unique (and good) qualifications that certainly set him apart. It would be great for a candidate to really hammer home the moral imperative of making our economy, our education system, and our health care system more equitable. So hopefully he can add to the debate and make a big splash.

     the result of a blood transfusion, as he's a hemophiliac.  Remarkably, he hasn't developed any symptoms, and has been the subject of multiple medical studies since.

       ...he was exposed to, but did not contract HIV, and that his hemophilia has been cured.

       In 2003 Bob Massie suffered a setback. Though he had been exposed to the HIV virus through his hemophilia treatments many years before, his immune system proved to have a rare resistance to it. Unfortunately, he also contracted Hepatitis C which his immune system could not defeat. This eventually lead to liver cirrhosis that damaged his liver; he had to leave his job and return home for the next six years to wait for a transplant. During this long period, despite his reduced energy, he was involved with many political and issue campaigns. He also spent years reading American history in order to deepen his understanding of our national story.

       In July 2009, his life took a miraculous turn, when he received a liver transplant at Emory University hospital. Within six months his energy had been restored, his viruses had been suppressed, and his lifelong hemophilia had been completely cured. He is now in better health than at any point in his life.

5. i guess i'll be hanging out here more often

   i am thrilled to pieces about this and want to connect with anyone interested in working on this campaign.

   I have mostly lurked here so I don't know BMG community norms.  I'd like to cross post my Daily Kos diary about Bob Massie that I wrote last night.

       • Anyone with an account can write a diary..

         ...though I think there might be a 24-hour waiting period between account creation and being able to do that.  You certainly should be able to write one now.

6. Raising the bar

   There is a critical need for candidates and elected officials to turn the toxic tide of war-mongering rhetoric and paternalistic thinking/policies into diplomatic and effective words, actions and progress. Bob Massie can bring that voice and vision to the US Senate.
