Reminder – each congressional district elects its delegates to the DNC – tomorrow 4/21/12

First, why it matters – DOMA is still out there, dividing families, discriminating against the Trans Gender and Gay citizens in this country – and it is NOT a done deal as of today that the Democratic National Convention (DNC) will pass a platform that condemns DOMA – the “Defense of Marriage Act” – which is Orwellian language for preventing some folks from marrying (not defending marriage).

Anyway, any registered Democrat has the right to vote in these caucuses -  here is the list of congressional district caucuses – and yes, I will be attending and voting in the 5th Congressional District:

This is that time period that happens every four years when we have a time period with lots of Democratic infrastructure activities. From the DSC district elections, the state and local reorganization meetings and onto this weekend when we elect district delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Reminder that the district caucuses are THIS SATURDAY!
CD1 01:00 PM Springfield College, 263 Alden St, Springfield
CD2 10:00 AM Ware High School, 237 West Street. Ware
CD3 01:00 PM Lowell Lodge of the Elks Post #87, 40 Old Ferry Road, Lowell
CD4 01:00 PM Mount Ida College, 777 Dedham Street, Newton
CD5 01:00 PM Nevins Hall Memorial Building, 150 Concord Street, Framingham
CD6 10:00 AM Peabody High School, 485 Lowell Street, Peabody
CD7 10:00 AM Massachusetts College of Arts, 621 Huntington Avenue, Boston
CD8 10:00 AM East Middle School, 305 River St., Braintree
CD9 01:00 PM Wareham High School, 7 Viking Drive, Wareham
And no, I am not running for Democratic National Committeewoman or to attend the National Convention. And yes, I wonder if Citizens United being over turned by constitutional amendment will make it onto the platform.

  1. Just a technical clarification

It is my understanding that one had to have been registered as a Democrat by February 15th to be eligible to vote at these caucuses.
