Even though there are apparently laws requiring that the convention delegation adhere to the primary results, the state GOP was concerned enough that Ron Paul delegates were elected instead of the official slate that they were forced to sign an affidavit of dubious legality pledging to vote for Romney under pain and penalty of perjury. Charlie Baker and Kerry Healey were among those who lost elections to be delegates in the district caucuses. Rachel Maddow interviewed the 18-year-old who beat Charlie Baker and who is now being denied a seat in the delegation by the state party. The party wants to seat Baker, but Baker is demurring because he was at the caucus and he knows the newbie beat him fair and square. I thought the link was going to embed the TRMS video, but I guess it is just a link.

This is a disaster for Mitt Romney. In his home state he failed to administer and organize his activists to win delegate seats in spite of his major recognition profile and a ton of money. This is reflective of his hands off and distant style of management. He wants to be the head showman but was slow or a no show on following up on details. This is not a strong recommendation for being the Chief Executive of this country if he can not even get his own people elected in the state where he lives. Even Brad Jones lost, the house minority leader. The Romney campaign’s failure in Massachusetts should get more attention. It shows his incompetence in dealing with a political challenge or just dissed his supporters in this state.
