Scott Brown has managed to snatch embarrassment from the jaws of success with his web video that he hilariously calls “Let America be America again.” It turns out that several of the inspiring images of small businesses making it in America actually made it in Europe, the socialist paradise that has become the bane of every Republican’s existence. The good people of Rethink Brown may have broken this story first, revealing a week ago that the strapping butcher standing outside “O’Connor’s” in his apron is doing so in Dublin, Ireland; I noted the development on Twitter. The Globe piled on a few days later, observing that another image in the ad hailed from the heartland … of Spain (Barcelona, to be precise).
Now, ABC News has taken up the cause:
it turns out that the web ad released by Mass. Senate race Scott Brown last week – “Let America Be America Again” – featured some scenes that were shot in Europe.
The ad is a critique of comments made by Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren in 2011, runs 2 and a half minutes long. It features video of past presidents talking about free enterprise, interspersed with footage of businesses throughout the country- and, it turns out, in Ireland and Spain too….
The Brown campaign had no comment.
Indeed not. Nor, I suppose, have they had any comment on their trying to raise money by using accolades for the video from a right-wing wacko who thinks President Obama is a Muslim.

…I actually wouldn’t mind America being a little more European!

Were the bozos who created this piece stupid, incompetent, arrogant, or all of the above?
Did they not care? Did they think nobody would notice? Or do they all take their cue from Mr. Ferhnstrom and simply lie?

.. and they used local footage.

Yup, that about sums it up.

Scott Brown dares use the clip of Steve Jobs only because Mr. Jobs is dead.
Had Steve Jobs been alive, I promise you he would have found a way to publicly and badly humiliate Scott Brown. Steve Jobs was no right-winger.
