Today I thought back to Katie’s first Red Sox game. Excited as a seven year old can be, with her hat and glove, racing up the ramp and seeing the green of Fenway unfold before her – then racing down the aisle and through a gate right onto the field! Batting practice was just finishing up, and a Red Sox coach swept her up into his arms, he laughing, she laughing. He handed her back over, laughing still and said to her “That’s just how I feel every day!” Johnny Pesky passed away today – his laugh I’ll remember always.
