Politico is reporting that far right conservative Grover Norquist and his Americans For Tax Reform (ATR) is making a significant buy in direct mailings for Scott Brown.

ATR is spending $215,617 on direct mailers that target the former Harvard professor, who has recently leaped ahead of Republican Sen. Scott Brown in polling. The expenditure is by far the largest amount of money that’s been spent against Warren independently at one time in the race to date.

Direct mailers are not a direct violation of the “People’s Pledge”, but it’s another example of the change in the Scott Brown campaign which as initiated personal attacks against Warren.

the group’s foray into the race comes at a tense moment, as Brown is attacking Warren over her claim to Native American heritage and her past legal representation of corporations in controversial cases.

One Democrat monitoring the race acknowledged while ATR’s move is not a literal violation of the agreement, “it’s certainly a violation in spirit.”

“His behavior in the debate adds to the sense that his team and his side thinks they are in trouble for the very first time this year”

Seems that Brown has now embraced the far right in his line of attacks and now with money being spent on his campaign.
