Mike is running for Suffolk County Clerk to change the culture of the court and bring integrity and fairness into the clerk’s office.
In his 20 year career as a Public Defender, Prosecutor for the Attorney General, and private attorney he has protected the elderly from abuse as Supervisor of Prosecutions for Nursing Homes, gone after white-collar crime with the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Unit and specialized in civil rights violations and advocating for the disadvantaged.
Mike grew up in Washington Heights in Harlem and attended the School for the Performing Arts in New York. He credits his mother for his love of literature, language and his social justice sensibilities. He is a graduate of Columbia University and Suffolk University School of Law.
The incumbent, Michael Donovan, a longtime South Boston politician, has held the seat since 1976. In those 36 years Donovan has appointed only two African-Americans as assistant clerks while giving at least five family members jobs.
I met Mike at the Massachusetts Democratic Convention and believe he will indeed bring more fairness to the culture and operations of the court. I’m going to the polls tomorrow – September 6 and vote for him and if you live in Suffolk County Suffolk County, Mass.(http://massachusetts.hometownlocator.com/maps/countymap,cfips,025,c,suffolk.cfm) I hope you will , too.
