Mud-slinging seems to be a common refrain from both sides of the race — the Women for Brown group, affiliated with the Brown campaign, sent Warren a basket filled with laundry supplies to help her “clean up her act.”
“With all the mudslinging Elizabeth Warren and her allies have been doing, we thought these laundry supplies would be a useful gift,” said Angela Davis, chairwoman of the Women for Brown coalition. “We might never see Professor Warren fold her own clothes, but she does need to clean up her act and stop with her dirty politics.”
Well played, Women for Brown. Subtle.

… that Elizabeth Warren gets great national exposure by speaking to the Democratic convention in prime time. No doubt a basket of laundry is just as good as if Scott Brown had similar national exposure. Although don’t we all wonder why Scott Brown didn’t make a prominent national appearance at the Reublican convention?

Talking about Brown’s VOTING RECORD is considered dirty??
And…pot, kettle, much?
lynne says
as my husband astutely says, major backfire material. It’s insulting, and vaguely… misogynistic, just like the original ad…

Talking about the political party Brown belongs to and the party leaders he’ll vote to put in control of the Senate. Apparently the campaign is only supposed to focus on Brown’s family, his truck and what a nice guy he is.

Sure there have been a few jabs, but this has hardly been a nasty campaign. The TV ads at least have been all positive.

Implying that she lied her way into her jobs by claiming to be a member of a disadvantaged minority, when she never did any such thing? That’s politics by smear and lies. Brown is a second-generation political politician, a creature of the political machine, who has already demonstrated that he will play as dirty as anyone. And lets not forget his staff’s “Crazy Khazei” anonymous Internet smear campaign — until through their incompetence they blew their own cover.

Morningloryside Heights in the City of Bosstown (NY) is to be dismissed lightly.
Nevertheless, a humble footsoldier in the E-Legion of All Progressive Humanity who likes to call meself “Paddy McTammany” feels none too happy in a political climate that features a steady dismal drizzle of de haut en bas tripe and baloney about — against — the “second-generation political politician [and] creature of the political machine.”
These wannabe sneerwords are, of course, highest praise. Praise for which S. Phillip Fratboy, distinguished current warmer of The People’s Seat™ though he have the honor to be, scarcely begins to qualify.
Happy days.
P.S. Paddy and Eye happen to have at hand the following little freebie that features a pretty pair of Viewers from Morningloryside Heights:
(( “Somewhereville? Way down over there, son. I think.” ))

Nothing says class like high-school highjinx. Is this an election for Senate or greek council?

When misogynist scumbag Scott Brown (R-Wall St.) isn’t swearing at school children, trying to tear down Fenway, posting half-naked photos of his daughters to his fundraising page, and suggesting a female journalist get drunk and dance in the back of his gardener’s pick-up, he’s attacking Warren’s dead grandparents and telling her to shut up.
I hope Elizabeth brings her basket on stage with her tonight.
liveandletlive says
Not bring the basket to the convention, but she should definitely post a photo of it to her website, release it to the media. That was a really awful thing for them to do. Really immature.

in the laundry basket? I am just wondering if this is a step-up or a stomp-up, as it were, for the Republicans?
