Everyone should see that mailer from the National Right to Life Committee explaining exactly why they support Scott Brown.

The way they use that quote from Deuteronomy is astonishing. It’s a wonderful line — one that has resonated in human thought for a few thousand years by now. It’s worth going back and reading what Moses was saying in context there. It has nothing whatever to do with abortion.

What they don’t realize is that they are conceding its a choice, and ultimately a choice best left to the woman. I would love for ‘pro-life’ groups to use all the money they have wasted over the past forty years trying to overturn Roe v Wade, electing Republicans who have failed at delivering on that promise, and instead use it to promote adoption, promote sex education, promote universal day care, pre-K, kindergarten, federal paid maternity and paternity leave and universal healthcare. All of those things, which for the record Elizabeth Warren wholeheartedly supports, would reduce abortions far more than another four more years of failed Reaganomics and the return to Hoover economics with Ryancare. I’d respect the ‘pro-life’ movement if they got over their single issue obsession with Roe v Wade and got to work on proactive policies that actually help women in crisis pregnancies, but look at Browns friends like Blount, Akins and Mourdock; this was never about letting more women make better choices but denying them any choice. Brown shows us where he stands with his votes-and he stands against women.

The printing and postage for that was money wasted – my daughter and I are both volunteering for Warren and Kennedy on election day!

Show it to anyone you know who thinks Brown is a pro-choice “moderate.”
