Folks tend to forget that every single one of us will die. The question is not “if” but “when”. Hello! Therefore, having more money to leave in a heap behind you when your body is placed in an urn or a casket is a meaningless legacy. What matters, all that matters, is the character you have created for yourself and whether you have left the world a better place than you found it. Good for Menino.

Carl did not say “failure”, nor have I on this website. What he did say was:

Mayor Menino, although a fundamentally decent person, has often been a disappointment as a leader.

I agree with Carl and will always give Menino props for being an early supporter of Marriage Equality, but I to have been disappointed on several occasions.

However, that does not mean that I will support him for Mayor to infinity and beyond, when other candidates put themselves forward for consideration. I have listed my disappointments, particularly with the idiotic Level 4 Biolab, elsewhere, and I look forward to the day when we have new leadership.

Mayor Menino has been a leader for 20 years. Certainly the voters of Boston believe so. From local job creation to supporting equal marriage, Mayor Menino has been there. No surprise to me he is making a statement on this issue.

As has been stated many times before, then GOP of today is basically a collection of unapologetic crooks, bigots, and pro-plutocracy extremists. How they keep getting elected is beyond me, and something I’d rather not think too much about. I hope and pray that Obama goes over the cliff rather than caving to these scoundrels and crackpots again.
Admirable of Menino to try, though.
