so many posts I was nervous they’d lose on a cheap goal. Often in hockey the team that gets the best chances and can’t convert loses in OT.
The last (and first) 30 seconds of a period are important. I recall a game against the Rangers last year where the Rangers scored in the last few seconds, just like in the second period last night, and another game where they scored a few seconds into a period, like last night’s third period.
This is a big one for me since I have a fair amount of family in New York (who never fail to give me crap) and my own brother is huge Ranger fan.
But I thought the Bruins were the better team. They didn’t dominate the game but they were better.

So losing in OT would have been a huge disappointment.

During the three regulation periods I thought the Bruins were a shade better, but not dominant. In OT they were dominant. But I’ve seen a lot teams dominate the OT and hit the post a few times, just to give up a breakaway or a floater and lose. It was nice to see their late dominance pay off.

Hey jconway, you are in Chicago, right? Any chance you can slip something into the Hawks’ water before tomorrow’s game so my Red Wings have a chance? 🙂
Chicago and Pittsburgh are the obvious favorites to meet for the Cup, but the great thing about hockey is that anything can happen in the playoffs. Last year, LA was an 8th seed who barely made the playoffs.
Glad to see the kid from my alma mater (Krug) contributing. I’m all in for the O6 series and I’m pumped that there will be a division with the Bruins, Canadiens, Leafs, and Wings next year. Those west coast playoff series suck.

And that’s a great rivalry, maybe the toughest in the NHL after Habs/Bruins.

Two OT wins in a row. Go Bruins!

But boy did they choke, fiancĂ©e has been rooting for the Bruins with me and I root for the Hawks with her, that’d be one big upset though. I just love seeing so many good original six series, I’d love for it to be bruins-hawks or wings in the final. Can’t stand Pittsburgh fans (lot of them out here, I hate the steelers too), and I extend my hatred of the Lakers to any LA team. Got nothing against the sharks though, my sister and brother in law are big Woostah sharks fans and they are affiliate with San Jose. Gotta beat the rangers first!
