Hi everyone,
This past weekend, our field team reached a huge milestone. So I asked my field Director, Carl Nilsson, to write a bit about it. Here’s what he had to say:
We passed a milestone this past weekend, and it adds up to one million. That’s how many voters we’ve reached out to on this campaign so far with the help from grassroots organizers, volunteers and activists.
Whether it’s been by placing a phone call or knocking on doors, our campaign has gotten the message out that this race is important, especially when it comes to ending gun violence, promoting tax fairness and protecting Social Security for seniors.
From day one, Ed has prioritized building our campaign from the grassroots up. And we could not have hit this benchmark of a million voter contact attempts without our incredible volunteers. More than 10,775 people across the Commonwealth have taken time out of their busy schedules to support Ed by talking to their neighbors and fellow Bay Staters about what’s at stake in this race. To reach that million mark, our supporters have participated in 13,272 events.
And with a month still to go, we’re committed to keeping up the pace all the way through June 25th.
The people of Massachusetts know that we need to commit to ending the epidemic of gun violence in this country. Ed Markey will go to the Senate to make the NRA stand for Not Relevant Anymore.
We know, in Massachusetts, that we need to commit to protecting Social Security. People have contributed to Social Security for their entire lives. It is an earned benefit and Ed Markey will work to protect that benefit for this generation of seniors and the next.
People all across the Commonwealth and the nation believe the tax system is stacked against them. Ed Markey knows it’s time that millionaires, billionaires and corporations pay their fair share. And he is committed to cracking down on tax loopholes that give corporations and wealthy individuals an unfair advantage.
We’re thrilled to have hit the one million mark, but that doesn’t mean we’re done. We have to keep up this momentum. We are committed to working every day from now until June 25th to make sure Massachusetts has two strong voices in the Senate.
What can you commit to doing? Join us this weekend – sign up to volunteer and join in our conversation online. Use #iCommit and tell us why you think we need to send Ed Markey to the Senate.

I’ve been doing my part with a heavy canvassing schedule. Since the primary I have been doing Doors Every Day. I just came in from Day 28. The campaign resumed the canvassing effort on the Saturday after the primary. I’ve been knocking on doors every day since then. I’m hoping to break my personal record of 45 days straight. Just came in from some door to door. Whether you can do every day or twice a week or can just help out on election weekend, we need your help.
