The Boston Herald endorsed Peter Koutoujian for Congress today saying:
But one of those Democratic contenders, current Middlesex County Sheriff Peter Koutoujian, by virtue of his experience, his integrity and his work ethic has the potential to actually make a positive contribution and the Herald is pleased to endorse his candidacy.
Koutoujian, a former assistant district attorney and former state representative, has a broader range of public sector experience than any of his primary contest rivals. And this is a time when experience really does count, especially when constituents of the 5th District will need someone who can hit the ground running.
It’s not that we agree with Koutoujian on a lot of issues — far from it. He’s a big supporter of the Affordable Care Act, for example. But he also supports repeal of the medical device tax that is part of that law and which is hurting local businesses — businesses, he correctly notes, that provide about 30,000 jobs here.
My Union endorsed Peter Koutoujian as well and while we seldom, if ever, agree with a Boston Herald Editorial we agree with their endorsement in the 5th CD Democratic Primary.
