Eagan: Marty Walsh can get to ‘yes,’ but what about ‘I do’?
Can he really “get to yes” with cops and firefighters when he can’t “get to yes” with the lovely Lorrie Higgins? I hear he’s asked her to marry him maybe a half-dozen times. She’s still not at the bargaining table.
This is in the News & Opinion section? Should be in the Inside Track. C’mon Margery.

MAYBE a human interest story, but this seems to be prying into personal lives. Boston has no Gracie Mansion with strict rules against non-family staying there so at least he won’t face the issue Giuliani did in NYC.

No substance. Just meant to piss people off.
I expect more from Ms. Eagan, but I am NOT even a little bit surprised that this passed muster at the Herald.

That’s the only thing I can think of. Stupid. Even by Herald standards.

or variations on the theme.

What a waste of ink. There are lots of stories that would fit in the “personal interest” category that hit the cutting room floor. This one belonged there too. The press should focus on urban policy as it relates to the Mayor-Elect, not his girlfriend.

…sure the tone may have been different but that is a reflection on the two papers. I don’t know her, sounds like a terrific person…and as someone who campaigned with him, she’s opened herself up to public examination. That maybe unfair, but a fact of political life today.
