There was a recent front-page story by Kevin Cullen that included the phrase “flirting with cliche” — the piece was yet another attempt to link the World Series win with “Boston Strong” and the marathon bombing.
I, and one other commenter, posted comments that were well within the guidelines published by the Globe. We each observed that the piece was not just “cliche”, but was, well, just more sentimental garbage.
Both comments were scrubbed from the comments thread on piece. The “new Globe”, it seems, allows no criticism on its comment threads.
I am a hairsbreadth away from cancelling my online subscription. Things seem to be going from bad to very much worse as the new ownership settles in.

That reflects an institution that does not remotely abide by the standards it professes to embrace. You should write up the incident as a separate post, with as much detail about what you posted as you can remember.
