I tune in to WGBH Radio tonight to listen to Mass Lawyers Weekly’s David Frank on the various cases going on in our state right now.
That of course meant listening to Jim and Margery. Freakin’ painful I tell ya. Painful.
These two are so uninformed yet inversely confident in their opinions. Margery, although well meaning, is surprisingly ignorant on basic local, national, and international topics someone with her resume and current positions should know.
Then there is Jim, a self-obsessed insecure boar who can’t stop derailing good conversation with his lack of common knowledge, interruptions to explain the obvious, (Guest: I was looking up at the moon and I…. Jim interrupts: for those listeners who don’t know, the moon is the big yellow thing that appears in the sky each night. Go on) and insistence on painting everyone or everything as either the best or worst.
Anyway I first had to put up with outrage from Margery that it is condescending to women to suggest they don’t’ walk alone because of the guy in East Boston and the other one in the North End attacking women.
Margery is in a huff because the mayor and others are demeaning women to suggest that. or something. Of course she argues as is this is an everywhere-at-all-times suggestion. As opposed to the facts at hand which are:
A pervert they have on video attacked a women in the North End late one evening last week. Then the other day an obviously drunk/drugged out/or mentally unstable guy groped three women within a few hours of each other in East Boston.
So these very isolated incidents are what they are. very isolated and until they catch these guys they want the targets of the crime to be aware.
Margery on the other hand is running with isolated facts to suggest that this is suggesting that if a woman is by herself and gets attacked it is her on fault. Like if she is dressed like a slut she deserves it or something. I’m not sure what the hell she means.
Anyway I suffer through that and finally get David Frank. I had to turn it off. Jim made it intolerable. But there was a one great part.
Jim went off on Frank and Lawyer’s Weekly for not supporting camera’s in the federal courtrooms. He preached and lectured and told Frank over and over again hoe sincere he is on this issue. He basically said the publication should be ashamed of itself.
Typical Braude. Bombastic speech by a lazy fraud. Frank shot back at the putz and informed him and the audience that Lawyer’s Weekly has been editorializing for this and writing about it for some time.
See? Braude just talks shit.
And this is public radio. It’s a joke. A roundtable circle jerk for the local media who love to mention each other’s names and speak of the work they all do as if it is the highest of callings and they are the most ethical and moral people out there.
The syrupy Brian McGory segments are nothing more than public relatuons rah rahs for the increasingly irrelevant Boston Globe

Unless you want Jim Braude to come to your house, explain the obvious, and categorize everything you own and everyone you know as the best or the worst you will follow me on twitter.

You sure you weren’t looking in the mirror when you were writing that?:)

He opened himself up to that. We should give him a medal for not demeaning women or minorities in this one.

I was not able to listen to that show although I wanted to. And true, somtimes my friend Jim Braude’s style is a little too much “Morning Joe interuptus” for me. I do love Marjorie since I relate to her gut feminist opinionated self .
I can’t watch Morning Joe or Mika anymore…doctors orders.

I think of the column she wrote when welfare was being eliminated as an entitlement. Too ignorant and lazy to be in touch with anyone who might be affected by the cuts, she called up an advocacy organization and asked to be presented with a victim.
The victim was duly supplied, but Margery deigned him to be insufficiently pathetic for her projected column. She accused him, and the group who supplied him, with wasting her whole afternoon, and attacked them in a column supporting the cuts.
Judy Meredith, I can understand why having a short memory is an asset to a lobbyist, but there should be limits. How can you love such a lazy, treacherous self promoter?

Marjorie behaved badly, its true. And she still does make stupid careless and unkind comments about people based on nothing but her undeveloped and frequently uninformed instincts. It’s not my job to judge her or forgive her for that matter but I guess I do both.
