So RedSox/Boston Globe owner John Henry tells the Globe (Baahaahaa) that Fenway Park is good for another 20 to 30 years.
You all see what he’s doing here, don’t you? Anyone? Bueller?
Of course not you blind bastards.
Right before he left the mayor’s job didn’t Tom Menino give the Red Sox another kind of job by signing a “lifetime” agreement for property rights to the streets and sidewalks around Fenway Park thus making Henry et al mall and parking lot landlords in return for questionable consideration?
And didn’t they also grab cheap lifetime air rights on Lansdowne St.?
Weren’t these deals brought up in the election?
Why yes, I believe they were Mr. Boch.
And didn’t Marty Walsh and the other mayoral candidates say they would look in to it if elected?
You tell me.
See how stupid they think we are?
I hope the new mayor spanks John and Larry for insulting his and the tax payers of Boston’s intelligence.
John Henry will either save the Globe or the combination of his new cross ownership interests and the Globies’ unrealistic perception of themselves (i.e. hubris) will hasten its demise. Right now I’m betting on the latter.
