First up the must read links. Three of them. Two are MA Supreme Judicial Court opinions and one is a Board of Bar Overseers decision. Each one adds more insight to the man known as Arthur T. It’s better than any summer reading you’re now into. Trust me on this. Don’t be intimidated because they’re court cases. Scroll down to the facts sections and enjoy.
Note: I think it would behoove Market Basket employees, their loved ones, and those who depend on them to take a peek at these.

Tell me what you think of Artie T now?

Actually D-Day is the wrong theater. Today is more like A-Bomb day for the Japanese. As in, “You better quit what you’re doing. Look at this thing we have. Look at at! Are you kidding me? So stop it. This Rising Sun stuff just ain’t gonna cut it. Okay?”
In response (to be spoken in bad over the top Japanese accent). Oh, don’t you listen to those lying round eyes evil bastards. We will WIN!!!!! Keep Fighting!!!’
Even after Hiroshima the message still wasn’t received.
Whether you agree with the bombing or not it was an obvious and ready solution for our self-preservation. Dropping the bomb was the easy part btw.
And that’s what Arthur S. and his friends will be doing this week. They’ve been holed up doing the Manhattan Project thing and now they’re gonna execute the obvious course of action.

Good for Grossman’s mom. This will help him. Guarantee it. Could you imagine if Marty Walsh’s mom or Felix Arroyo had the dough to d\this for there kids? Holy moly.
The fact of the matter is that Steve’s Grossman a nice guy. A good guy. You hear that over and over from people who would have no problem saying he’s an asshole.
As a result he has the support of these pols around the state and with most of them is coming an organization to get out the vote and make primary day a nice upset.

Hubris
BTW, did you read those court opinions yet? What? No! Get back there and read them and then come back to me.
Okay, hubris. Obviously Artie T. has a bad case of it. Willing to go to into a winless war believing he can win and destryoing his army in the process.
Thank God I don’t have that. If I did I’d say things like this:
Suppose you were following the big local political story of the week and after digesting the facts as best you can from the mainstream media you are allowed to read only one commentary. Your choices are
David Bernstein
Paul McMorrow
Bruce Mohl
Kevin Cullen
Jack Sullivan
Margery Eagan
Peter Gelziniz
Jim Braude
Thomas Farragher
Yvonne Abraham
Larrry Harmon
Brian McGrory
A Globe Editorial
Ernie Boch, III
Who would you read?
Man, I am so glad I don’t have the type of ego that could destroy a person.

but if you want a good summary I suggest reading The Demoulas Trap in Boston Magazine. Then you still have the opportunity to continue with your summer reading.
But that is specifically about a time 20 years ago when Telemachus and Arthur hatched a plan to discredit a judge because who given control 50.5% to Arthur S. side of the family. It’s pretty ugly. Okay, you beat that one pretty good. That is not why workers are afraid of losing their benefits and jobs. I know you will ignore again as this has been brought up to you many times and it’s like talking to a cement wall.
What you never comment on it how the business is run and why employees and management side with Arthur T. You instead discuss family battles of control of the company.
THESE ARE TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.
Please explain why someone is concerned about their retirement that they have built over many years and benefits they have, run by someone who has run a very profitable company.
Guess what, it’s not because of a disbarred lawyer. That’s stupid.
You got a guy, Arthur S. who has never once said he wanted to run and keep the company, his only quotes were alluding to reviewing the best offer to sell. He fires the guy who ran the profit sharing plan, and sued to cash in 300 million, that’s in the few months that he had control of the company.
Now what they hell are you talking about?

The workers are putting the cart before the horse. And it’s their cart while Artie T. owns the horse.
Not a single labor union in the country would be telling thses workers to stay out of work.
The Market Bsasket employees seem to be a de facto labor union, if there can be one.
So what normal workers do is they protest they let their opinion be known about the ouster of the CEO.
At the same time they dialogue with the new CEO and board letting them know how serious and committed they are to they way the place runs and their benefits so if they screw with it we going out.
That’s all
They’ could be where they are now but they’d have much more leverage. Not a cult of personality.
johnk says
if they were unionized they wouldn’t need to align with one side or the other, they would have been in a much better position and likely would have been on strike, if that’s what it is. But they aligned they way they did based on actions of a CEO running the company, and the actions, and there were actions, cashing out, firing those who ran the profit sharing, that they felt like they needed to act for their own preservation, not for Arthur T. and especially not because a lawyer was disbarred 20 years ago.
eb3-fka-ernie-boch-iii says
That’s pretty current to me.
Stop shutting your eyes to the obvious john. Artie doesn’t love you. He never did. Oh sure there were the nights on the town and trips to Havana but you were just arm candy baby, arm candy.
Sure you were special, not like the other skirts that came in and out of his life like dirty shirts at Chinese laundry.
No, you had a role to play for him. He needed you so he could play the part of the suave international arms dealer/philanthropist.
No sugar, even your gams couldn’t stop him from what he really wanted.
Revenge. Revenge. But you being a crazy dame you don’t see it.
If you did you you’d feel lower than Eddie Gaedel.
Now get out here and don’t come back here.
Until you have my retainer.

because if I call this “sexist crap” or “sexist garbage”, all of EB3’s defenders will get all bent out of shape and demand that I stop picking on him.
Does “you crazy broad” rise to the level of intelligent debate? Really?
