Enough of the pussy footing around…I know she’s not everyone’s first choice but she earned the nomination fair and square. If she loses, it will only be because of Democrats defecting and falling for Baker the Faker’s Koch Brother ads.
Get out and and win this for Team Blue!!!!

FAKER BAKER DOES NOT.
That’s reason enough for me to support Martha.
I’ll think of some more but just chew on that for awhile.

After all, how could someone simultaneously vote yes for sick leave and Baker???
fredrichlariccia says
“The moral crises of our age has nothing to do with gay marriage or abortion. It’s insider trading, obscene CEO pay (like Chuckies $1.7 M), wage theft from ordinary workers (like opposing the minimum wage increase), Wall Streets gambling addiction, corporate payoffs to friendly politicians (like the Koch suckers), and the billionaire takeover of our democracy (the pay for play
Christie corrupt bargain).”
I’m just gettin’ started. “Fasten your seats guys. We’re in for a bumpy ride.” BETTY DAVIS

Democrats are not a majority of voters. If Coakley loses, it will be because she didn’t appeal to a majority of unenrolled voters. Of course you want to stop “defections” from Team Blue, but “rah-rah Yay our side” isn’t enough to do that, let alone win the unenrolled.
takebrowndown2012 says
She had the base solidly behind her. If Martha gets 75 percent or more of the Democrats, she wins without a majority of the Unenrolled. Hence the premise of my previous comment.
There’s really no defensible reason for the Dems not to enthusiastically rally behind Martha. It’s not like she’s a John Silber.
jconway says
And for the last time, we are. If the candidate and her campaign matched our enthusiasm we might win this.
takebrowndown2012 says
If you recall, Liz didn’t hit her stride until she dropped the identity political theme and stuck to the populist theme- Something Coakley has been hammering Baker with in the last couple debates.
doubleman says
This is hilarious.
takebrowndown2012 says
Now stop trolling.
kirth says
That’s scorn. I think your “Warren wasn’t better than Coakley” statement is fairly ridiculous, too.
doubleman says
I was being mean. The statement is ridiculous, though.
Yes, it took some time for Warren to hit the exact right pitch, but she was consistently laying out a progressive vision and strongly holding up those values. That’s something Coakley has not done (at least partly because she doesn’t hold some of those values). Campaign comms work best when backed up with real passion.
Also, Warren was a first-time candidate, and Coakley has been running major races for two decades.
petr says
…that the Hon Sen. Warren might disagree as to the level of ‘ridiculous’ in that statement.

“Liz Warren isn’t any better than Coakley in many respects…” Please pay attention. You should stop criticizing her supporters for not supporting her enough and a get a clue about what’s really going on here. You’re starting to embarrass yourself.
centralmassdad says
That guy is so over the top that one can only imagine that the intention is to provoke a round of silly recriminations here, as if anonymous posts on a message board might somehow travel into the real word.
And I say that as an avowed ABC voter.

I’m slow but I’m starting to catch on…

As you seem to forget the countless fumbles early on by the Warren Campaign, not the least of which was the Native American Heritage controversy. I’m not convinced she would have done any better against Brown than Coakley did had it not been for the turnout for Obama’s reelection.
Christopher says
She never campaigned on her Cherokee background. She got nothing but flak for checking one box on one survey several years ago.
centralmassdad says
If anything, the whole think, complete with the idiots doing the tomahawk chop, was a horrible, tin-eared unforced error by Brown.
The whole thing blew up in his face and made him seem like an asshole, thus undoing the thing that made him successful in 2010.
kirth says
I know I’ve hinted, or maybe outright said, that I won’t vote for Coakley, and it’s true that I do not want to. The more I learn about Baker, though, the more I’m inclined to hold my nose and make my mark on Martha.
This stuff, though, where Coakley supporters are telling us to “put up or shut up” and “STFU” about Coakley’s negatives, and get on the friggin’ bus already — this stuff is pushing me toward not voting in the Gov race at all. I humbly suggest that you guys cut it out. You are not helping MC, at all.

Follow Kate’s lead, follow Judy’s lead, and follow John’s path (aka Striker 57) and stick to the positives and rally the troops. I would love to join Kate in Arlington, sounds like a blast and I would totally do it if I lived in the area. Ditto some of these other events. Frankly having Deval, Healey, Clark, and other more exciting figures join Martha on the trail is a great idea and a great way to rally the base. You can focus on the positives, but you shouldn’t sugarcoat the truth either. This has become an uphill battle through not fault of those dedicated activists and every fault of the candidate. Activists can and should straighten the sails, but its up to the candidate to steer the ship.
takebrowndown2012 says
The alternative is far worse for reasons that have been discussed. I’m just beyond frustrated by the pass the media continues to give Baker. They did the same thing during the GOP primary when his minions tried keeping Mark Fisher off the ballot.
kirth says
But please, WE are not the media. You want to yell at the press, go ahead, they’ve earned it. Don’t yell at us, though.

Ignore the silly boys trying to put you down for taking your time….As the late Frank Mankiewicz said “Trust your instincts. Pay no attention to what you hear or see.”
Such passionate partisans should get off their phones or IPads or lap tops and be on the doors or making knock and drop routes instead of reading and posting on blogs trying to take folks like you down. For some people BMG is like the old guys that go to the same bar every night and getting into an argument with the same people over the fine points of the same teams performances at last night’s game.
Of course you could stop reading certain people comments about anything, never mind responding in kind.
Have a good night.

How would it go over I called female posters with whom I disagreed “the silly girls”?

I encourage you to listen to your heart and your gut. Yes, of course, it’s important to test those insights with rationality and analysis. In my experience, though, my heart and intuition are best at putting it all together.
I have found that my early decision to blank the Governor’s race has left me much more receptive to enthusiastically supporting Maura Healey (whom I was initially indisposed towards) and Deb Goldberg.
There will be other gubernatorial races and other candidates. This is an excellent time to get to know today’s new faces that will be tomorrow’s juggernaut candidate.
