We get jaded about Fox News, expecting absolutely nothing good from it. And I know, you can make yourself crazy running down all their sins.
But isn’t the tradition of TV punditry supposed to be that it’s people who can credibly analyze both sides? Back when Scott Brown was forced to work across the aisle, he did. Remember his 40-mile bike ride with John Kerry? He cast a good vote after that (I forget the exact issue). His anti-insider trading bill was a good idea that went nowhere.
But after THIS cycle? He ran a flatout partisan campaign. He said the problem with Shaheen was that she was too close to Obama. He went after her on terrorism. It was a profound step backward. (Which is not even to mention that he defeated a real New Hampshire Republican, Bob Smith, in the primary.)
I would HOPE that a more respectable network would balk at being used to keep a political career alive. (I know NBC hired Chelsea Clinton — but NBC’s issue is nepotism.)
Fox is a commercial for GOP PACs. Just ask Mike Huckabee.

AFSIK Fox is a private sector concern.
Unlike defeated MA legislators who go on to run agencies they know nothing about like registries of motor vehicles and courts.

…certain connected folks can always count on a soft landing, never mind the irony of those same folks decrying others getting help after a tough break.

Yes, Fox is a private company, owned in part by a Saudi who lives in a country that so far as can tell, has had 19 beheadings this year in keeping with their culture. That does not seem to bother Scotty, so long as the bucks are flowing. I hear he’s looking at a “vacation home” in Arizona, or was that Mississippi?

That’s the big time for professional Senate candidates.

And he’d be running against another uppity woman.
