In a victory for the basic constitutional principles of truth, justice, and the American Way, Judge Richard Berman spoke for New England today. Globe:
Quarterback Tom Brady will be able to start the Patriots’ season opener next week after a judge vacated his four-game suspension in the Deflategate controversy.
US District Judge Richard Berman filed his ruling Thursday after the NFL and the NFL Players Association failed to reach a settlement.
“Based upon the foregoing and applicable legal authorities, the Court hereby denies the Management Council’s motion to confirm the Award and grants the Players Association’s motion to vacate the Award, thereby vacating the four-game suspension of Tom Brady, effective immediately,” Berman wrote.
This was an absurd, trumped-up voyage into ridiculousness from the first claims by sore losers, the crushed Colts. (I predict, to digress, that a similarly Trumped-up ostensibly GOP candidate/bad TV actor will similarly be dismissed by the powers that be in a few months: it will be intriguing to see what gets dished on The Donald this autumn).
Let the games begin. GO PATS!

…Has so much been said, by so many, for so long, about so little.
Irony of ironies: It was a deflated football (soccer ball) that led to the creation of the game of rugby; from which game Americans derived “football” because rugby wasn’t dangerous enough. Why do you think the ball is shaped the way it is… ?
Let us here and now end the matter and never speak of it again.
