Congratulations to Secretary Clinton, now onto November. Apparently, being News organizations, given the primaries on Tuesday, they called so-far uncommitted super-delegates and the current tally has Clinton at 2384, which is also predicted to be achieved with just pledged delegates after California and New Jersey.
If you live in California or New Jersey, don’t read this.

this was reached because of just 13 super-delegates making their preference known.

..which I’m not sure I like. On Tuesday she will get the majority of pledged delegates too, thus absolutely sealing the deal. I didn’t like it in 2008 when Clinton supers started switching to Obama. In my view when you make a commitment you ought to keep it, but at least they had the excuse that Obama had the majority of pledged delegates. There is no similar impetus this year for Clinton supers to switch to Sanders.

…for an explanation for the downrate on that one.

for as long as he’s been running. What’s changed now? Why does he lose? Please don’t take this as my endorsement of the guy. I just keep hearing people in politics telling me for months now that the guy does not stand a chance. First he was going to “top out” and never get more than 30% of the Republican, then he was going to be out of it when the field narrowed and Jeb Bush would take the lead….then McCain remark, the insult to the reporter with the disability, yeah, he’s toast after that…and now this, now Hillary will be his demise…because???

Non-Republican stalwarts will be voting in November, and the proportion of frightened racists in the group is far lower. But you know that.
Just when I think everyone learned from Nader’s spoiler role in 2000, someone like you pops up. Holding your breath because your favoritest person didn’t win is a great way to give us four years of Trump.

super delegates who have now pledged their votes to HRC. But who are they? I haven’t found a list of names anywhere. Maybe someone can provide a link. Wouldn’t a pledge be public?
This is really bad journalism. There are big primaries today, and to have announced that the contest is over just before the voting starts goes against longstanding journalistic practice.
Networks don’t call elections until the polls close. They no longer use exit polls to call elections in the middle of the day. The reason is that if you announce the results before the voting, you are improperly influencing the election. That’s what AP has done here.
And even worse, this is a bullshit story. Twenty super delegates more or less make no difference. There is no way, under any scenario, that HRC can come away from today’s voting without several times that amount. She has had the nomination wrapped up for a while. Why taint today’s results?
