Herewith a demographic snapshot of candidate support by age and racial status. It should be noted that much of this state of affairs results from a lack of credible targeted field operations targeted at black and Latino voters.
In many communities there is simply no “there” there, hence no competent engagement/gotv mechanism.
In fairness, Obama’s 2012 Campaign shared this flaw, resulting in decreased turnout by black millennials and Latinos 18-64 years old (thankfully overbalanced by increased turnout by black voters 45 and older, and Latinos over 65).

…your constant harping on supposed lack of on the ground field operations when that directly contradicts both my experience and involvement in political campaigns. Most campaigns in recent years have put almost all of their eggs into this particular basket.

more limited than Paul’s.
If you follow his link, there’s a diversity problem being reported. It’s not necessarily Massachusetts, and black voters may be getting reached out to late in the game.
What’s happening in Lowell? What’s happening in Brockton? Pittsfield?

…that’s where I see the ground operations of campaigns that utilize a volunteer structure of neighborhood teams. We did it for Warren and Markey for sure; the last statewide was less impressive. I have been involved in every cycle since being old enough to vote in various campaigns in various jurisdictions and I have never seen anything OTHER than the model at least that I interpret Paul is advocating. We hear about nothing EXCEPT talk to your neighbors, go through your contacts, people listen to those they know, etc. If I do say so myself my experience is pretty broad in this regard.
