at a Congressional meeting by falsely claiming that he lost to Clinton because 3 – 5 million ‘illegals’ voted.
I thought it was one clown, scamming faux populist fascism on the country; but I was wrong. It’s a whole party.
And that is the sad state of the morally and intellectually bankrupt GOP .

Just Mitch McConnell and 2 Lts have not. But hey, Mitch’s wife works for Donald.

I don’t think the people pushing this idea took a good look at their calendars. That’s Easter weekend. Participation will likely be dampened as a result. Lots of families have other plans.

Most likely I will have to work that day until two o’clock or so, but I’ll find a place to be. Hey Don, I pay MY taxes, prove that YOU pay yours!

The media will continue to treat this as a controversy even though it’s centralized on something that isn’t real. David is right that they’ve finally given up the “one side says x, other side says y” “objectivity” and to admit “y” is a lie. That’s a good thing, but even those stories are still going to repeat the phrase over and over again which will subliminally convince the masses it’s real. Orwell called this tactic the big lie.
We have to be really careful with it. Trump is taking the parallel reality the right has constructed into the mainstream and his presidency will be a daily denial of basic facts and reality.

I was a car salesman in the 80’s. I did quite well, but not as well as a co-worker and friend “Dave”. I never lied to people. Any question got an honest answer, even if it meant losing the sale. With Dave, any question got the answer that best helped him sell the car. And here’s the thing: Many of his customers were repeat customers. That’s the part I could not figure out.
One day, over a beer and wings after work, I asked Dave how he did it. “How is it that you lie to customers, sell them a car, they KNOW you lied and then a few months later or a year later, they buy another car from you?”
His reply was memorable. “You don’t get it. You tell people the truth and think they all believe you because it’s the truth. Well, some so but most don’t, because you’re a car salesman. They think we all lie and it’s all part of the game. So why do they come back to me? They don’t blame me for lying, they know we all lie. Maybe they just like my lies more than yours.”

the average person trusts car salesmen more than politicians.

This is wrong in principle and wrong as a matter of tactics. You’re a grown up: act like one.
