Good news/bad news: We’ve taken the House and hemorrhaged Senate seats in red states. There’s so much to take apart about tonight — but for now I want to do a little victory dance for our Song of Resistance candidates, for whom we raised $10,000 in a September concert:
Beto O’Rouke, TX-Sen: Well, he didn’t pull it out. But he was competitive, and seems to have pulled a few US House candidates across the finish line. The money and organization he raised will remain in Texas politics and help turn it into a true purple state … eventually. It’s a disappointment for sure. But.
Jared Golden, Maine 2nd: We don’t have results yet, but he’s holding strong in a very close district.
Chris Pappas, New Hampshire’s 1st: He wins! Terrific candidate in a ruthlessly close district.
Antonio Delgado, New York 19th: Wins! A Rhodes scholar, Harvard Law grad progressive defeats health care hypocrite John Faso in a rural swing district.
Annie Kuster, New Hampshire 2nd: Breezed to victory.
So if Golden pulls it out — possibly assisted by ranked-choice voting — we will have gone four out of five in these mostly regionally-chosen races. Not bad! Thanks again to everyone who gave.

The TX result caught those of us at Trahan’s party a bit off guard. CNN had been showing O’Rourke leading or keeping it close with counties he should have done well in still largely uncounted, then it seemed they suddenly called it for Cruz.
