Since the victory of Trump* we have seen ICE agents and their leaders openly engage in ethnic cleansing in America. From the ICE agents who made arrests on private property without a warrant, to the private prison with nooses paid for by contract with ICE, to the kidnapping of 2,000 children that a Federal judge ordered stopped, to the authoritarian threat of ICE director Thomas Homan to jail his political opponents, to ICE’s Gestapo tactics inside courthouses, ICE has acted in racist and dishonest ways that are the opposite of the ideals of American law enforcement and justice.
(To be accurate, American law enforcement has included racist, dishonest people like Joe Arpaio, Bull Connor, and DEA agents who entrapped young black men. But these people acted against the ideals of liberty and justice for all.)
So when I see this Sunday Globe’s headline saying that ICE is accusing a Massachusetts judge of wrongdoing, I doubt that ICE is telling the media (and anyone else) the full truth.
Why would any of us take the word of bureaucrats in an agency that set out to damage children and succeeded at its evil goal? ICE and the red hats are demonizing and teargassing refugees who seek asylum.
ICE has no credibility nor decency, and that is a consequence of ICE’s actions.
I trust that judge, and you should, too.
In conclusion, we must #AbolishICE. Send Thomas Homan to the Hague.
