Haven’t seen anything about this here, nor Moulton’s looming presidential aspirations.
From Stephanie Murray’s Politico MA Playbook:
“Belsito worked as a legislative analyst in Washington, D.C. before moving to Brooklyn. She moved back to Massachusetts in the early 2000s. Belsito was appointed a trustee of her alma mater, Salem State University, and also a commissioner for the state Ellen Story Postpartum Commission.”
I am not familiar with her, but a cursory search seems to show a career of meaningful advocacy. Curious on people’s thoughts about her challenge, or Moulton’s standing now we are several months removed from the spanking Pelosi delivered him.

The rumor I’ve heard is that Moulton has already taped a presidential candidacy announcement to be dropped this week, so he may not be seeking re-election at all. Also last I checked Barbara L’Italien is considering a run for this seat.

She will have to speak to the fact that he campaigned for her re-election on two occasions, or that she ran in a different district the last time a seat opened up. I say this as an admirer who probably would’ve voted for her or Chandler in that election.
I have no idea who this other person is, but does not sound like a winner to me. The irony of Moulton is that he is a perfect fit for his slightly more fiscally and security hawkish district, which makes him totally unpalatable to statewide or national primary voters. He is obviously bored with his current position, but it’s likely he can keep it for a long time. I thank him for saving the seat from the GOP, and I have every expectation he’ll be keeping it warm for a long time.

Belsito has a rather diverse voting record as an unenrolled voter, ranging from Tisei to Bernie.
I would also note that Barbara L’Italien lives in Andover. In the 2012 redistricting, Andover was split between MA03 and MA06. L’Italien lives in MA06, about a block from the congressional district boundary.
In 2018, 12,800 votes were cast in the MA03 portion of Andover portion of MA03;
3,733 votes were cast in the MA06 portion of Andover.

Why is a Republican running as a Democrat? Hello? Anyone home?
Belsito publicly backed Republican Richard Tisei when he challenged Democrat Moulton for Congress in 2014.

“Why is a Republican running as a Democrat?”
That one’s easy — because she wants to have a chance of winning.

So I guess if Joe Biden can do it, why not Belsito?
Of course in Biden’s case, he did it for the money.
