The pending impeachment Potemkin Trial in the McConnell Senate marks the first time a Mad King will be ‘tried’ before a majority of his own party in which the jury foreman announced in advance he will find the defendant innocent of the charges before the trial begins!
The only way to crush Clementine Caligula is at the ballot box in November. You don’t have to live in Kentucky to vote against “Moscow Mitch”. If we defeat Collins (ME), Graham (SC), Ernst (IA), Tillis (NC), McSally (AZ) and Gardner (CO) … McConnell loses Senate Majority Leader. Even if Amy McGrath can’t take him down…WE CAN!

The historical “solution” most often turned to in cases like this is a bloody one. The thugs and reprobates like Mr. McConnell and Mr. Graham don’t seem to realize that the most likely consequence of their actions is violence.
The traditional response to tyrants and despots, together with the sycophants who enable them, involves knives, bullets, and guillotines. The American experiment was an effort to move past that brutal era — an effort that succeeded for about two centuries.
The irony is that it was the party who so loudly proclaimed itself to be “patriotic” and so gaudily wrapped itself in the flag that is single-handedly bringing down that Republic in spite of the best efforts of Democrats to resist.
I don’t think the election of 2020 will solve anything, if it even happens. Donald Trump and the GOP are doing and will do everything in their power to steal it by whatever means necessary. If they somehow fall short, they will surely declare the results to be invalid.
It appears to me that the dark forces called forth and pandered to by Vladimir Putin and his GOP sycophants are already out of the bottle. Pandora’s box has already been opened.
I hope for the best and fear for the worst.

DON’T SEND IMPEACHMENT TO THE SENATE says John Dean and I agree : “Hope Speaker Pelosi will not play into Mitch’s hands and allow the GOP Senate to exonerate Trump for his crimes. This is how to stop it. Impeach, don’t send to the Senate and continue to investigate. Make it a campaign issue. Senate is rigged. Stop the crowning of King Donald.”

This truly IS a constitutional crisis. The jury is compromised. Mitch McConnell just broadcast that to all the interested parties.
So far as I recall, nothing in the Constitution specifies a time limit for when the impeachment must be sent to the Senate.

Any McGrath, unfortunately, is a Trump-appeaser. I don’t think this kind of thing is going to work. You have to hit Trump and McConnell.

There is no swearing in the post, so my guess is the objection is to “fascist pukes” which seems to be Fred’s calling card. I do sympathize with the objection since it seems to mirror Trumpian levels of childish name-calling that I’d prefer to avoid.
