Gomez is Romney with Hispanic Parents (0 Replies)
Gabriel thinks that, because he was a Navy Seal, he can do whatever he wants. He thinks normal rules don’t apply to him.
He won’t release his tax returns. He doesn’t pay his bills, if he doesn’t want to. He acts like a bully.
Maybe, the IRS did the right thing (0 Replies)
The Koch brothers and many other right-wingers might have used “dark money” to influence the 2010 elections. It is indeed possible that the IRS did exactly the right thing.
There might be a good reason for outrage, but, instead of the IRS, our outrage should probably be directed to the Koch brothers and other right-wingers.. It is possible that the right-wing has falsely used non-profit money to hide the identity of donors and to violate federal elections law.
Critically Important (0 Replies)
This is not trivial. It’s time to stop hateful and false radio announcements. We should know who is supporting Rush Limbaugh, and we should tell them that we don’t like it.
Besides, we don’t need to work for Markey every minute of every day. We can more than one thing at a time.

Here's what you missed, David: The decline of Southie (1 Reply)
Steve Lynch lost big time.
And, Linda Dorcena Forry won her State Senate primary. That’s big news. That seat was formerly held by Jack Hart, Steve Lynch, and Bill Bulger,
A lot of firsts, as Forry is NOT a white irish catholic male.
State Senate Race (0 Replies)
The only reason that the Boston numbers are ahead is the State Senate race. The rest of Boston is behind the 2009 rate.
Overall, the turnout for the entire state appears to be worse than 2009.

I didn’t get contacted either.
Another Example of Galvin's Poor Leadership (1 Reply)
I voted today at 11:15. I was the only person voting. The polling place had two precincts. For each precinct, there were two people for me check-in, and there were two people to check-out. So, with the two precincts, that’s eight workers doing nothing. And, there was a policeman there, who was also doing nothing.
Half of the cost of holding an election is paying for the unneeded police detail. Towns try to save money by putting multiple precincts in the same location. That causes people to travel further than necessary to vote.
And, the requirement that there be two people always present to check-out a voter means that there towns have less money for people to check-in. It’s one of the reasons that there are such long lines.
We need to replace Galvin with somebody who encourages people to vote.
Yeah, it's an over-reaction. (1 Reply)
You said: “in a situation from from normal constraints and ordinary reactions I’m not certain, at all, what constitutes ‘over-reaction’”
Well, there is excuse for lying. The police initially said that Dzokhar fired on them. Now, they are changing their story.
And, why would they need to lie in the first place? Is it because they know that they should not have fired a barrage at an unarmed, wounded person?
Too easy on Boys in Blue (1 Reply)
It’s amazing that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was not armed. The police waaaay over-reacted. It is estimated that they fired over 40 times.
This type of over-reaction happens all the time, and, then, the police make things up to cover up their own actions.
I am really glad that the police action is getting a small amount of scrutiny. We should expect our police officers to tell the truth.
Simple Answer why the FBI didn't recognize him immediately (1 Reply)
He was wearing sunglasses and a hat. He’s hard to recognize from the videos and pictures. Don’t know why his young brother didn’t wear sunglasses also.
Watched Last Debate (1 Reply)
Like a football game, the fans are not the only viewers. Future opponents also watch very carefully. So, last night, There is one other group of people who watched and recorded the debate–republican strategists.
It's not really a debate (2 Replies)
These debates are not really debates. The substance doesn’t matter. What matters is how the candidate appears to the voters.
Markey looked to be unhappy and defensive. Lynch looked relaxed and confident.
Lynch won this debate. Fortunately, for Markey, nobody was watching.
You show the difference between republicans and democrats (2 Replies)
Democrats need to fall in love with their candidates, but republicans just fall in line.
Markey's Spending (1 Reply)
According to the FEC web-site, Markey has spent about $3.1 million so far while Lynch has spent about $1.7 million. But, the polls seem to indicate that the race is getting closer. Is Markey spending his money wisely?
It doesn't seem possible (0 Replies)
Every time I see Senator Warren, she seems to be getting even better!
Wow! I am signing onto ElizabethWarren.com and making a contribution!
Outsider? (1 Reply)
So, David, you are concerned that Tom Steyer is an outsider trying to influence Massachusetts politics?
Well, what about the DSCC and Ed Markey’s entire campaign? The DSCC has been throwing its weight around a lot more than Steyer.
If it’s wrong for an outsider from California to support Markey, then it should be wrong for the DSCC (from DC) to support Markey also.
I respectfully disagree, Christopher (1 Reply)
Sure, the DSCC is supposed to create and retain a Senate majority. But, they should not be interfering in primary elections in Democratic states. The DSCC basically ran the Warren campaign, but that was different because there was a republican incumbent.
There is no good reason for the DSCC to be so actively involved in our special election now. Guy Cecil is making a mistake that might elect a republican..
Venocchi is Part Wrong and Part Right (1 Reply)
Venocchi is simply wrong about John Walsh, who is doing his best to be fair to every candidate.
And, Venocchi is wrong about Vicki Kennedy’s motivation. Venocchi seems to forget that Markey had a very long and close relationship with Senator Kennedy. There is nothing surprising in Vicki’s decision to endorse.
Venocchi is right about the DSCC, however. Their meddling in this election is harmful. Mass. Democrats deserve a spirited primary election, and the DSCC should not have been involved. If Steve Lynch ends up winning the primary, he will be able to thank the DSCC for their incompetence.
A baby step (1 Reply)
Such a ridiculously small step forward. Jack Kennedy talked about “profiles of courage”, but that phrase doesn’t apply to our state legislature.
