Statement from Harry Rubash, MD, MGH Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery, who performed Gov. Patrick's procedure:"Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is in good condition, alert and resting comfortably following successful hip replacement surgery today at Massachusetts General Hospital . The procedure lasted approximately 2 1/2 hours without any complications. Gov. Patrick is expected to remain in the hospital for four to five days, followed by a few weeks of outpatient rehabilitation."
