Seriously... (0 Replies)
Who the hell are you carrying water for?
Son you are a coward and a schill... (2 Replies)
You don’t know me from a hole in your head. But you don’t know May either. Don’t comment on that which you don’t know– you look foolish and petty.
The Genetic Bill of Rights is no sham... (1 Reply)
It’s a bill Steve, and FGE worked with Harriet Chandler introduced last year. FGE has been involved with other stakeholders in CA to pass a genetic equity bill there, not to mention a bill introduced in VT.
Mark all snarkiness aside, organizers can manage to stretch budgets if they are any good at all. Don’t know details of their finances, but do know Steve and his work, and its not a sham.
can't speak to the website but... (1 Reply)
Mark, there are plenty of op-eds and editorials written by Steve. If you Google “Steve May and Forum on Genetic Equity”. There is certainly an organization because I know of their work first hand and have benefited from Steve’s efforts.
Davis conduct dangerous.... (1 Reply)
I agree with bruinfan22. Davis’ conduct served to undermine Nyhan. There may be times when say you have a race between a Green and a Dem or two a primary where you have a reform democrat and an institutional democrat in a primary, but there is a time to fall behind your party’s candidate.
The point here is not partisan purity. The real issue is that the challenge to Nyhan occurred after the party had settled on a candidate. It failed to recognize the tragic nature under which she was called to serve, and served to actively undercut her.
As a mother, you can support your kid. And you are certainly entitled to stand for election, as is anyone. What is troubling is that there seems to be a causal relationship in her speaking about these two events. I can’t more clearly say this. IT’S REALLY PROBLEMATIC…
Based on her behavior I have reason for pause- I do not believe that she will after waging a primary campaign that she would support the eventual nominee if it isn’t her. We can’t afford to be in that situation.
Disappointing- (1 Reply)
I saw Davis speak at my town Caucus. So, your running because you were bored. Someone suggests that you run for Conservation board in Norwell, and you’ve mused that’d be fun to run for State Senate. That’s NOT good enough. Bob Hedlund needs to be challenged by someone who won’t need a map to find the Bathrooms or the clerk’s office at the Statehouse.
More disturbing is the fact that you triumph the fact that you helped your son run a write-in campaign against Rhonda Nyhan, the duly nominated Democratic candidate. You may believe this makes you Mother of the Year. This is politics. It’s not novel- its incredibly disloyal, especially considering that Nyhan was recently widowed when her husband the incumbent died in an accident.
I agree... (0 Replies)
I recently heard Davis give a similar speech. As a mother, loving your son is precious. BUT I am not electing someone Mother of the Year. I am voting for someone to end Bob Hedlund’s Holy Reign of Terror. As a Democrat, her interest in running seems to be that she supported her son in challenging another Democrat. BTW that Democrat was Rhonda Nyhan who’d just lost her husband under tragic circumstances. Davis has worked at Fidelity for 28 years. She styles herself as a Elizabeth Warren type. Truth is she isn’t Warren. Anyone think Fidelity and State Street need more folks on Beacon Hill doing their bidding?
By contrast, Steve May is a thoughtful committed progressive. I don’t completely agree with Steve on every issue, but it’s clear that he has an understanding of how the world works, and more importantly, he knows why he believes what he believes, and he can explain his world view. That’s refreshing!!! Steve has a depth of understanding around healthcare that is truly impressive, but he also has a handle on the many issues confronting the state. Most importantly in my gut, I believe Steve will fight for me, in a way Davis won’t. Steve has championed the needs of people on the margins of our society for years, and as best as I can tell he is good at it. Why wouldn’t folks on the South Shore want someone with his profile fighting for us on Beacon Hill.
