Connolly Gentle, Fierce in Boston Mayoral Start

March 5, 2013 By massmarrier 2 Comments

John Connolly can be our t'ai chi candidate. He's running an upbeat, pleasant campaign for mayor of Boston, but has a no-nonsense punch behind the smile and gentle hand. He joined Left Ahead today to describe his platforms and policies. … [Read more...]

January 12, 2011 By warrior02131 Leave a Comment

Hi All: It was very comical that Treasurer Grossman was busy texting while Mayor Menino was giving his "State of the City" address yesterday. Senate President Murray didn't seem too pleased either. After Menino finished, she looked at her … [Read more...]

The Real Charter School Agenda in Boston

December 13, 2010 By jamaicaplainiac 20 Comments

This is what Carol Johnson's school closing plan amounts to.  The city is already in talks with charter schools to lease the closed school buildings to charter schools. It's about union busting, of course, but it's also something … [Read more...]

Shouldn’t Boston have to share the 2 1/2 pain?

May 25, 2010 By conor 19 Comments

In my own hometown of Brockton we had three overrides on the ballot in '08 (all three failed), and then had to lay off more than 400 teachers last week.  Sadly, we don't have hundreds of thousands hidden away in other accounts, let … [Read more...]

Boston Votes: 2009 Municipal Election

November 4, 2009 By matt-in-boston 1 Comment

The Globe’s very odd endorsement of Tom Menino

November 1, 2009 By David 21 Comments

While Menino is overly reliant on some longtime loyalists, his top officials have usually been strong figures. Yes, if by "strong figure" you mean "on a leave of absence until issues surrounding potentially criminal conduct are … [Read more...]

Earlier this month, the Globe reported that the sheriff of the jail she has suffered extreme mental & physical torture in for 9 months has spent more time licking Stephen Miller's boots than concerning himself w/cleanliness of his own facility. Pathetic.

So if I'm waiting for a loved one to get off a train at N. Station, where do I sit? I'm not usually a "@CharlieBakerMA should ride the T" guy. But if he rode the T regularly he would be asking this Q. Instead, his Admin punishes riders w/gates. https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2019/12/15/get-ready-keolis-says-fare-gates-are-coming-commuter-rail-next-year/Zb19kqxbJO7jBfAtmaRluO/story.html #mapoli

No thanks Pete.

Today, I asked @PeteButtigieg to change his climate plan because his call to end climate pollution by 2050 IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. In response, he asked @m_kimaya and I (two teenagers) to propose a plan and asked me to “rethink my strategy”.
