This article from Washington Monthly is a great read. It’s an eye-opening look at how a douchebag of liberty like Robert Novak has managed to commit a truly disgraceful and unpatriotic act — publicly disclosing the name of an undercover CIA agent, thereby ending her career and possibly endangering the lives of people doing a lot more than Novak ever will to help the United States — and yet has remained a genuinely powerful and influential figure in Washington. I felt vaguely ill after reading the article, but at least I felt better informed.
Our theory on how it is that Novak apparently has not yet been subpoenaed in the ongoing Valerie Plame investigation is here; other thoughts and background on the Novak-Plame matter are here.
