What is truly behind the health care stalemate on Beacon Hill? Rumor has it that Sal DiMasi has begrudgingly compromised on the so called payroll tax contained in the House health care plan. However the same rumors say Trav has actually alligned himself with Romney and the business community and refuses to consider any employer mandate or responsibility to be included in the bill.
What DiMasi’s compromise is no one knows, due to the clandestine atmosphere of the negotiations. However, what is known is that Trav is willing to give buisness who do not offer insurance a walk on their reponsibility and more sad that he is willing to give Romney a political win as he runs for President and also give Healey the coattails with the issue of beating down “taxes”.
Without any employer mandate or “tax” how else does the finances of the plan work – there is no other way to pay for the proposed reforms in the bill.
What strange bedfellows this issue has made…..

Fuzzy math. I’m so tired of unfunded mandates.

Ask the cities and towns how that feels…

I think Travelini (sp? too tired to check) needs to step down from leadership. What the hell does he think he’s doing? The people are with the House bill on this one. Trav should have the cover he needs to support this. So either he really is just blindly pro-business (or, rather, pro-misbehaving business), or else someone powerful got to him. In either case, he’s a damned poor leader.

Trav should be in the political target hairs of every person who cares about what happens to this state.
