Literary Benefit for Progressive Congressional Candidates

May 8, 2006 By sari

I just posted a new event in the events listing that I want to draw your attention to.

This Sunday is the kick-off of the Progressive Reading Series in Boston, a monthly series of literary benefits that support progressive congressional candidates nationwide. The event is sponsored by LitPAC. Some of the candidates LitPAC is support are: Tammy Duckworth (IL), Nick Lampson (TX) and Patricia Madrid (NM).

The Progressive Reading Series has been running in San Francisco and NYC and now we’re bringing it to Boston. It’s at The Attic in Newton Center, 7pm on May 14th. The event should be a lot of fun – fantastic writers, a fun bar, great people.

The event will be hosted by Stephen Elliot, author of Looking Forward To It: or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The American Political Process.

The writers for the first event include Tom Perrotta, Lily King, Peter Orner, Luis Alberto Urrea, Steve Almond and Jen Trynin. Future events will include writers Sue Miller and Nick Flynn, among others.

Purchase tickets at ActBlue. Check out the Event listing to the left for more info.

Also – please share information about the event. Thanks!
