Last night, three candidates for Governor endorsed a long-term solution to the high-cost lending problem plaguing our Commonwealth. Christy Mihos, Deval Patrick, and Grace Ross all called for at least a doubling of the state’s affordable housing trust fund and endorsed legislation to extend community reinvestment laws to cover mortgage companies like Ameriquest and others. The commitments came at a candidates forum sponsored by the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance. MAHA will now reach out to the three candidates that weren’t at the forum and attempt to get their positions on the same issues.

It’s being hosted by a whole lot of acronyms… CHAPA, BSA, HFF, MAHA, MACDC, MCH, MNPHA, MSGA, MUPHT (I don’t even know what most of those stand for, but they’re all on the flyer).
