Eloquent Endorsement of Deval Patrick by State Rep Dan Bosley

September 13, 2006 By michael-forbes-wilcox

I’ve posted on my blog a wonderful letter written by one of our Berkshire Reps.

Dan Bosley is known for his acumen on the business climate in Massachusetts, and is highly regarded in this neck of the woods for his excellent work in the legislature.

It’s one more personal story of why someone was moved to support Deval, and I think it is exceptionally meaningful, coming from an “insider” (if you will) who is very eloquent in expressing his passion about the Patrick candidacy. I’m delighted to have his support.

Dan Bosley, Mistah Chairman of the Gov’t Regs Committee, is endorsing Deval?  And this is good news, why?  As chair of the committee overseeing racing, utilities, and the lottery, Bosley has taken more lobbyist money than most people who have served in the State House, combined.

Small wonder Bosley’s backing Deval.  He doesn’t need the tax cut that Deval has promised to withhold.  And I’m not even factoring in the rapacious per diem that Bosley pockets each year for commuting to western MA.  (BTW, is it true that, rather than commute ala Jane Swift Bosley actually shares an apartment in Boston?)  See, Mistah Chairman’s taken advantage of the legislative tax break that’s available to the sacred 200 in the House and Senate.  Bosley’s rationale?  “It’s not like I’m feathering my own nest.  I’m just availing myself of what business deductions we have.”

Thanks for clearing that up.  As Bosley so piously penned, now I can get back to the business of ‘believing again.’
