I wanted to thank all of you who attended Wednesday’s rally in Worcester for helping to make it such a great event. I know that Deval and Tim were thrilled with the attendance and the energy, and President Clinton called to say how impressed he was as well.
And thank you for all of your efforts on behalf of this ticket. As I said at the rally in Worcester, when Deval and Tim are elected it will change — for the better — the way we do politics in this state. We’re not there yet, so it’s up to each and every one of us to keep up the hard work. Thanks again, and I’ll see you on the trail!
All the best,
Congressman Jim McGovern

Congressman McGovern,

You were fantastic. You were clearly the equal of Deval and Bill Clinton when it came to oratory and passion. I don’t live in your district. I am looking forward to the day I can cast my vote for you.

Joe Moakley would be proud of you. I know I am.

I live in Brookline. No commuter rail availability within hours of the event time outbound, and a slow ride inbound.

South Station to Worcester: Greyhound, $8, 55 minutes.
Worcester to South Station: MBTA, $6, 85 minutes.

That doesn’t count waiting for the transit at the station, nor does it include the subway rides in Boston.

It served to remind me that tUS Congress and the MA lege isn’t doing enough to help with those who don’t drive in and out of Boston. For Worcester, New Bedford, Salem, and a dozen other small cities, improved transit in and out of Boston is critical to the MA economy.

Tim Murray gets it. I hope Congressman McGovern does too.

I am ready to support him for Senate.

I’m proud to say he IS my Congressman, and my friend. You can not find a more genuine man with his convictions, Deval a close 2nd.

We could not have been more inspired the day that he and Congressman Olver were arrested in front of the Sudanese embassy. As a protest of the genocide in Darfur.

This man has been walking the streets of the Commonwealth on behalf of Deval every day he is home from Washington.

Imagine your doorbell ringing and when you open the door, there stands a US Congressman with Deval Patrick/Tim Murray literature in his hand?

His speeches on the House floor are awesome…..thank you Jim, for your hard work and your passion and your service to us and this country.

Congressman McGovern is a tribute to the up and coming of the Democratic House, I am proud to be from North Attleboro, in his 3rd district. Sadly, being a current BU Student and registered here I won’t be able to vote for him again like i did in 2004, but I’m glad to know he impressed at the Patrick event in Worcester on Wednesday.

Thanks for a great day, Congressman McGovern!! If anyone wants the full size versions of these pics, just let me know and I’ll email them out, ok?

First off, the event was fantastic and I really appreciate your efforts in making it happen. Before Deval Patrick and Tim Murray, I was never nearly as proud of any elected official of mine as I have been/am of you.

What kind of man is Jim McGovern? Let me give you a little snapshot:
<
p>
This morning I woke up to go do a standout in Holden for Nate Kaplan, who’s running against Lew Evangelidis. If you are in MA today, you know that it is pouring rain, cold, and extremely windy. I challenge you to find worse weather for a standout. But Nate’s a good guy and would make a great rep, so myself and about 20 others stood out anyway. Shortly after we got there, who shows up but Jim…He walks around and shakes every hand on all four corners of the intersection, thanking US for being there. Then he stood out, no umbrella or raincoat, for the rest of the time we were there, holding a sign and waving with the rest of us.
<
p>
That’s what kind of man Congressman Jim McGovern is. The kind of man who can make it to Capitol Hill and still stand out in the rain in a little town in Central MA for a candidate he believes in. The kind of man who still participates tirelessly in the nitty gritty trenchwork that wins campaigns.
<

That’s my Congressman. Hat’s off.

Congressman McGovern has got to be one of the hardest working elected officials around. Somehow he seems to participate in every event in the district (like a couple weeks ago, when I saw him at a charitable event in Worcester). I also saw him holding signs outside South Station right before the primaries for Tim Murray. He seems like he’s everywhere, and he does a great job.

This House Rep is ” on the ball ” unlike a few in our state who are NOT. Those MA House names reserved for another “special” time, coming to a theater near you!
<

You “lazy” House reps know WHO you are!
<
p>
The current Democrats (whether House or Senate) in office should be out in force, with boots on. These “working” bees should assist with current ELECTIONS of Democrats House and Senate potentials. That is of course if they want to stay in office!

The larger broad picture!
Nothing will change unless the Democrats gain control back in the Congress.

What many don’t see here is that Bush (1) has “starved the states” over the past 6 years. Mitt & Healey (2) are “guilty of starving the towns and more by far”!

Marty Meehan might just have 200 dinner guests he didn’t plan on! Have a lovely week Mr. Meehan!
rollbiz says
About the Meehan thing please? Really, people gave money to him. I wish that he would give it all away to help the Dem cause. However, he certainly doesn’t have any obligation to. It’s silly to be this worked up about it, and it created bad feelings that aren’t necessary. I’m not happy with his decision, but it is his decision. If you don’t like it, convince people to vote him out at a future date, but I think there’s bigger fish to fry, frankly…
