The SJC updated its docket yesterday indicating that it will give the Commonwealth until November 15 to file its brief in the LaGuer case, adding, “no further enlargements”. Laguer’s attorneys will then have two weeks to file a rebuttal. The original filing deadline to respond to the LaGuer/Rehnquist brief was October 11. The commonwealth is also seeking permission to file a “supplemental appendix”. In the meantime, the legal points the brief turns on aside, doubts persist about LaGuer’s actual guilt.
