[A little more off-topic light-hearted fun from T&P]
If you’ve been cooking, baking, entertaining, and trying to ignore the scream of the Halloween candy in the cabinet, this may help you find your treadmill a little more alluring. This catchy little tune has certainly made it’s way around the internet in what I think is a brilliant marketing scheme that has turned me into an unwitting promoter but if you haven’t seen it yet, click twice on the triangle below. Ok go was nominated for a Grammy, and will be appearing on ABC’s 20/20 on December 29th. And of course they’re touring with a stop in Boston on March 27th at Boston University (w/Snow Patrol–sounds fun!) Whether you saw it here first or not, it’s got a great sound and a certain “How’d they do that?” visual that makes it worth a second look.

What ever happened to The Jam? I was thinking they reminded me a little of Green Day, but you may have bested me. I love the way they don’t take themselves too seriously. Check out the tin foil on the wall in the background and the way one of the band members has to use a remote control to turn on the treadmills. Don’t they look like they’re having a blast?

It seems like many popular alt-rock groups these days have a Jam frame of reference: Futureheads, Kaiser Chiefs, etc. Like I say, nothing wrong with that.

… and how could I leave out the fabulous Ted Leo and the Pharmacists? I know them a heck of a lot better than the others, whom I’ve only heard on ‘FNX. Ted Leo is fabulous.

…I saw an interview where they said they practiced for 18 days, then had one day to tape. In four hours they managed to complete the routine 3 times, and this was the best one.
