The Democratic Party Annual Fundraiser, the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Dinner, will be held on April 30 at the Fairmont Copley. John Walsh, aka John from Abington, former Campaign Manager for the Deval Patrick Campaign, is the Event Chair. Governor Deval Patrick will present the awards. Phil Johnston and MJ Powell, will receive the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Awards. Congressman Marty Meehan and Senator Travaglini will be recipients of the Outstanding Public Service Awards.
I’m working to put together a table and I’d love to have some members of the BMG community join me. The event will be a lot of fun. You’ll have a chance to meet some interesting people.
I’m reminded of an old West Wing episode. The dialogue goes something like this as Bartlet and Leo are discussing the upcoming state dinner.
BARTLET: You think it’s important he sit at my table tonight?
LEO: He’s the guest of honor, so it is customary.
BARTLET: Where are you sitting?
LEO: At your table, sir.
BARTLET: Where’s Toby sitting?
LEO: With CJ and Josh and Sam.
BARTLET: Ah, that’s the fun table.
Well, It’s my plan that our’s will be the “fun” table. This will be my first Party Dinner with a sitting Democratic Governor. So come and savor our victory. Attending is a great way to support the Democratic Party. Tickets are $200 per person. For a ticket, you can contact me at KateDonaghue@aol.com – Other prices are $500/ticket to private reception and $2500/table of 10-includes 3 tickets to private reception. If you want a table of your own, please let me know.
